Thai Hyperloop feasibility study released to the publicApril 17, 2019
A detailed document named “HYPERLOOP IN THAILAND: Preliminary study on the implementation of a TransPod Hyperloop line in Thailand” was released by TransPod Inc. The document has 118 pages and is the first detailed Hyperloop feasibility study released to the public.
Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, a Thai politician currently serving as the leader of Future Forward Party, engaged TransPod Inc. to deliver a pre-feasibility study of a passenger Hyperloop line. The aimed connection is from Bangkok to Chiang Mai with a second leg to Phuket. The connection in comparison with other modes of transportation is presented on the right. The total route length is 1514 km. The map indicates distances in straight line, only relevant for planes.
“The goal of this study is to provide empirical evidence on the potential impacts of implementing TransPod’s technology in Thailand.” says the document’s intro.
